Littleddy36.parrisisland,
We are trying to keep our son motivated, optimistic and forward-looking, they all made it this far, and now somewhat of a letdown with this long delay, that's why he is melancoly and somewhat discouraged, presently has a room all to himself, but described being treated on real newcomers - only a mattress, and we thought boot camp style conditions were in the past!
Again, based on responses, including yours, to our posting today, understand that RA requests aren't usually sent, processed, returned and confirmed that quickly - it takes time. And for sure, to fly out of Lawton to the New York metro area is quite expensive, while just the idea of putting him on a bus for two days and lugging all that baggage (and himself) in and out of about 5 or more buses and numerous terminal changes, etc. --- talk about boot camp conditions!!!
In one way it is good, because if he left this week, the 30 days RA completes around Easter/spring break week --- and getting flights back are difficult, we did preliminary web searching the past two nights just in case he recv'd. his orders and was to leave immediately...
We also send our best and warmest wishes to you for your son and Marine, that RA is granted and he can get home soon!
